5 Awesome Thanksgiving and Winter Activities to Do with Your Kids for the Break

Thanksgiving break is a fun time for the family. The problem is kids can start to get bored. You need to find new and inventive ways to keep them entertained. Here are five Thanksgiving and winter activities to do with your kids during the break.

Create a Backyard Weather Station

Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean the kids have to stay indoors. Enjoy some fun learning while on break by setting up a backyard weather station. You’ll need a thermometer, rain gauge, and other similar items to help kids learn more about the weather and keep track of the information throughout the break.

Make Some Winter Ornaments

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas decorations and winter ornaments. The break is the perfect time to get crafty with the kids. There’s no need for the TV when the weather is dismal outside.

Set Up a Scavenger Hunt

Next it’s time to go scavenging. You can set up a scavenger hunt in your backyard and give your kids a list of things to find. That could keep them quiet for a few hours.

Create Your Own Cards

It will soon be time to get Christmas cards out to friends and family. Instead of buying them, why not make them this year? They’ll be perfect for keeping the cost down and creating something more personalized.

Play in the Leaves

The leaves are still falling. It’s time to get playful with them. Spend some time raking them up and then jump around in them together. Kids cherish the fun they have with you rather than what you can materialistically provide.

There’s always something fun to do. It’s time to use your backyard to your advantage when the weather is good while on break. When it’s not, you can always get crafty indoors over Thanksgiving.
